Example: Salary Tax Computation (2025)
Let’s say your monthly salary is ₱35,000.
Step 1: Deduct mandatory contributions
- SSS: ₱1,300
- PhilHealth: ₱525
- Pag-IBIG: ₱100
Total Deductions: ₱1,925
Step 2: Compute taxable income
₱35,000 – ₱1,925 = ₱33,075
Step 3: Apply BIR formula (in the ₱20,834–₱33,332 range → 15% of excess)
Tax = ₱33,075 – ₱20,833 = ₱12,242 × 15% = ₱1,836.30
Estimated Tax: ₱1,836.30
Net Pay: ₱35,000 – ₱1,925 – ₱1,836.30 = ₱31,238.70
